It contains 13 tracks that scream urban. 1. “Sour Cherry” by The Kills – A delicious party starter, it makes listeners feel right at the comfort of Blair Waldorf’s soiree. 2. “Do You Wanna” by The Kooks - What this indie rock song brings is a great degree of excitement, which clearly represents the drive within all the characters. 3. “Do the Panic” by Phantom Planet – This catchy guitar-based tune reinforces a ‘work hard, play hard’ attitude. Times are fast in the big city, but hard work has to balance with fun. 4. “Feeling Better” by The Teenagers – The song definitely captures the spirit of young on-the-go teenagers. So Jenny Humphrey! 5. “One Week of Danger” (Demo Version) by The Virgins – What happens if light rock music blends with groove? Find out in this song that was played in the ‘Seventeen Candles’ episode back in Season 1. An instant favorite! 6. “Got Your Number” by Nadia Oh – An electronic touch gives this track a flirtatious tone. All the Serena van der Woodsens might have this on their play lists. 7. “Crimewave” by Crystal Castles – The intro immediately establishes the mood for the rest of the song, which fits a late night scene at a hotel club. 8. “Fight Song” by The Republic Tigers – Teen angst is a surefire element that takes on the song. It depicts the frustration of some of the characters in facing their issues and their determination to resolve them, such as Nate and his family. 9. “Cities in Dust” by Junkie XL – It’s worth playing while everybody’s on the raving dance floor. 10. “We Started Nothing” by The Ting Tings – A vibrant view of the New York cityscape at nighttime would not be complete without this fast-paced, upbeat tune. Its intensity is clearly defined by the loose vocals and gritty guitar playing. 11. “Breakfast in NYC” by Oppenheimer – With a light and breezy vibe, this one invites listeners to get cozy at a café on the corner of the city’s busiest avenue. 12. “Three Wishes” by The Pierces – The musings of the two talented Pierce sisters give the soundtrack a gentle, reflective mood. 13. “Hard to Live in the City” by Albert Hammond, Jr. – Dreamy and whimsical, this last track could either call for retrospection or creativity. It’s one of only a few melodious songs found on the album. Want more Gossip Girl?
